Saltreat Sand & Multi-Media Filters

Vessels used for SALTREAT series are made of state-of-the-art composite, food – grade, non – metallic material that simply cannot rust Comparison : Composite vs Steel Tanks . The composite vessel are made of NSF/ FDA listed constituents. The vessels are mechanically strong and operating pressure could be up to 10 bars. The SALTREAT series vessels are available up to 79” diameter.

SALTREAT sand & multi-media filters Brochure are equipped with an automatic control system that contains a solid state microprocessor which stores system settings and operational data in nonvolatile memory. This main control is commonly actuated by a 1-99 days clock timer which permits optimum back washing capabilities.

The additional provision for individual adjustment of the backwash cycle , and the manual operation of the filters make this control an exception. Twin or several units in parallel connection with one or any unit in service mode and the other as stand-by is also adaptable with this controller.

The SALTREAT sand & multi-media filters can also be supplied with nest of mechanical valves to enable manual backwashing of the system , if desired.

The media used in the SALTREAT series is carefully selected of the finest quality to achieve maximum filtration efficiency at reasonable pressure drops. A notable example is the Filter-Ag® which has many outstanding advantages over the conventional sands. Filter-Ag® is a light weight, non-hydrous silicon dioxide media that has high surface area, requires less backwash rate and creates less pressure loss for better overall performance. Specs of Filter Ag Sand

For the removal of big- size suspended solids and turbidity in waters, multi- layers of technically graded media are used. Raw water has to pass through and penetrate layers of Anthracite coal, fine & coarse silica sands and gravels that are loaded inside the filter body.
